Juneau Glacier Dog Sled Adventure

Join us on this truly Alaskan adventure and experience the magnificence of Juneau’s Norris Glacier through the eyes of an Iditarod musher! This unique experience provides the opportunity to mush your own sled team of huskies across the snow-capped Juneau Icefield. Learn the tricks of the trade, and master the important commands of Hike! Gee! and Haw!, from seasoned veterans of Alaska’s legendary Iditarod, the prestigious 1,000-mile dogsled race across the Arctic Tundra.

While in flight to our secluded “Musher’s Camp”, which is nestled within the jagged peaks of the 8,000-ft coastal mountains, you will enjoy sweeping views of the lush Tongass National Rainforest, and Juneau’s only advancing glacier-- the mighty Taku-- all from a bird’s eye perspective.

At a Glance:

  • Enjoy bird’s-eye-views of up to four glaciers and the world’s largest temperate rainforest en route to Musher’s Camp
  • Learn the history and basics of dog sledding from professional Iditarod and Yukon Quest dog racers
  • Mush across a snow-capped glacier behind a team of well-cared-for, excitable huskies
  • Glacier boots are provided
  • To ensure the safety and comfort of all guests, backpacks, purses, iPads/tablets, selfie sticks, drones and other items are not permitted on board. Secure storage is available at the base. Cameras, go-pros, and a sense of adventure are welcome!
  • Tour operates May 7th - August 31st (subject to change due to snow conditions at Musher’s Camp)
  • Up to 35 minutes of flying and 1 hour at Musher’s Camp
  • Total time: 2 hours and 45 minutes (with transfers)
